New Product! Unicorn Greeter

Similar to my Gargoyle Greeter, I now have a Unicorn Greeter for sale in the Second Life Marketplace and my inworld store!

Looking for a cool fantasy sculpture that also has function? Buy this Unicorn Greeter! It greets your visitors and tells them to touch it for a note, notifies you that you have visitors, and makes a list of the visitors for you! The Unicorn is also customizable! In addition to being able to change its size, you can set a custom channel, range, rate, greeting message, and set what location it is at (in case you have more than one placed).
The total prim equivalency is 78 (at the current dimensions). It's quite high, but it has great detail!
Permissions on the object are Mod and Copy, but no transfer. The scripts are copy only. The note cards are full permission.

UWA Sky Sim 3D Art Installation: Endangered Species Zoo Maze - Dec 11 to Dec 31

Endangered Species Zoo Maze

I was awarded a sky sim space for an art exhibit by the University of Western Australia (You can read about my exhibit on their blog, as well).  It opens on December 11.  The Opening Reception is on that day from 6 PM to 8PM.  Hope to see you there!

When trying to decide what to propose for this exhibit, I asked a friend, "If you could create anything, even if it was something not possible in real life, what would you make?"  Her response wasn't exactly what I was going for.  It was, "I would help the animals."  At first, I dismissed it as not having answered the question.

I later returned to her answer and asked myself, "How can I use my 3D art to help real life animals?"  The answer I came up with was a 3D zoo of endangered species; with links to donate to the World Wildlife Fund.  I wanted to help the animals, not only by asking for money to help them, but also by providing an educational exhibit.  For this purpose, I chose species that are not widely known and I've included links to information about them.

This has turned into a rather large undertaking!  Consequently, not all the environment objects are my own creations.  Things such as plants and rocks may have been created by other Second Life residents.  The items that are my creations are mostly mesh, so you will need a mesh enabled viewer to enjoy this exhibit.  (Exact location will be posted at a later date.)

Finally, I wanted to add an element of fun to the exhibit, so I set the zoo within a garden maze!  There will be a treasure hunt on the first day of the exhibit, where you can get some of my products for free, and a few visitors will also win some L$!

UWA Sky Sim Exhibit Update

I am still working away at getting the Interactive Endangered Species Zoo ready for exhibition.  I will not be running it the entire month of December, as I spent too much time on the Challenge Entries!  o.O  Oops.  So . . . I plan on having it ready on December 15th, if not sooner.

Been Really Busy!

I've not gotten to announcing a new product each week!  Why?  Because I've been too busy creating!  I got two entries into this month's UWA Open 3D Art Challenge (I'll post about that next), I've been working on my Interactive Endangered Species Zoo for my December art exhibit, and I have created a few more products to sell.  I just have gotten around to marketing them.  I think I shall do that today, especially since one is for Halloween and it's only a week away.

UWA September Art Challenge!

Please view and vote for my Unicorn Desk with Mushroom Stool at http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/UWA/61/134/250!  The only specifications for this challenge are a 110 prim limit.  I made it with a 86 prim equivalency, hence the blockiness on the unicorn. I plan on adding more scripted features to this piece and selling it in the marketplace.  (I will also be submitting one or two pieces to next month's challenge.  I'm thinking I'll make them relevant to Halloween.)

UWA Sky Sim Art Exhibit

I've just been informed that I will be creating an exhibit for UWA (University if Western Australia) in Second Life for the month of December.  I will have a 5000 prim limit.  I don't want to give up all the details yet, but it involves an interactive exhibit on endangered species.  I will begin creation today.  When the event gets closer, I will post more details, including the location.  =D

Mesh is Live on the Main Grid!

What does this mean? It means that Second Life® residents can now create models using 3D programs, export them as .dae files, and then import them into Second Life!

I (along with many other residents) have been waiting a long time for this! I had some models made already. I just finished uploading them, creating the advertising material, and listing them on the Second Life marketplace!

Welcome to Metamorphia Designs' Blog!

Metamorphia Designs is a business by me, LunaMetamorphia (a Second Life® resident). I create digital products to sell in Second Life®, as well as real world products to sell in my Zazzle store: Metamorphia Designs". Right now, I don't have a store in Second Life®, but my products can be purchased in the MetamorphiaDesigns Second Life® Marketplace Store. As my inventory and sales grow, I will set up a store that residents can visit inworld.

I have been a graphic designer in the real world, since 1999 and have been learning 3D modeling since December of 2009. I have been in Second Life® (as other characters), since February 2007.
